FileGuru - Scanner and manager ("the app") is built around a simple principle: your documents belong to you, and stay on your device unless you personally choose to move them elsewhere.
What We Collect FileGuru - Scanner and manager does not require an account, does not run analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not operate any server that your documents are sent to. There is no FileGuru backend at all. We, the developer, cannot see, access or collect any of your scans, receipts, signatures, stamps or folder names — they never leave your device unless you explicitly export, share or sync them yourself.
Where Your Data Lives
Scans, receipts, folders, signatures and stamps are stored locally in the app's private storage area on your device.
Statistics shown on the Home and Statistics screens are calculated on-device from your own documents — nothing is transmitted anywhere to produce them.
Permissions We Request
Camera — used only to capture pages while scanning. Frames are processed on-device to build your PDFs and are never uploaded.
Face ID / Touch ID — used only if you turn on App Lock, to confirm it's you reopening the app. Biometric data itself is managed entirely by iOS and never touches FileGuru or leaves your device.
Photo Library — used only if you choose to import an image (e.g. a signature, stamp, or a receipt photo) from your library, or save an exported file back to it.
Notifications — used only if you opt in to reminders; scheduled entirely on-device.
iCloud Sync (Optional) If you turn on iCloud Sync in Settings, your documents and folders are mirrored through your own private iCloud Drive container, tied to your personal Apple ID and protected by Apple's own encryption. This is your storage, governed by Apple's iCloud terms — FileGuru's developer has no access to it.
Subscriptions & Payment FileGuru Pro is sold as an auto-renewable subscription through Apple's In-App Purchase system. All payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.) are collected and processed entirely by Apple — FileGuru and its developer never see or store your payment information.
On-Device Intelligence Features like receipt scanning, DOCX conversion and background removal use Apple's on-device Vision framework to read text or isolate images. This processing happens entirely on your device; no image or recognized text is sent anywhere.
Your Control Deleting a document, folder, signature or stamp in the app permanently removes it from your device (and from your iCloud container on your next sync, if enabled). Turning off iCloud Sync or App Lock immediately stops that feature from being used.
Children's Privacy FileGuru - Scanner and manager is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, regardless of age, since it collects no information at all.
Changes to This Policy If this policy changes — for example if a future version adds an optional cloud feature — we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
